We all know someone who has been affected by breast cancer, and this year it especially hits home for the Nakee Tribe because this past year, Evan's sister, Kassi, was diagnosed with breast cancer. The whole family was shocked at the news because Kassi leads a healthy lifestyle and no hereditary breast cancer genes were detected.

In a conversation we had with Kassi, she said, "No one would guess that I had cancer, I had no lump, just a dull pain. That's the only way I knew to get checked."

She said she would've ignored the pain for longer, but something told her to go get it checked out. That dull pain she was experiencing turned out to be breast cancer.

Kassi encourages anyone who experiences any change in their breasts that is not familiar, to get a breast examination immediately.

Kassi said, "This is not a disease that is exclusive to "unhealthy" people. My cancer was environmental, not genetic, which means no one is exempt from it."

It's this kind of education that needs to be spread-- so please join us for our second annual breast cancer awareness fundraiser: Tips for Tatas.

For the entire month of October, Nakee & Co. will be raising funds to donate to the National Breast Cancer Foundation in Kassi's honor. We want you to join us to honor your friends and families who are also affected. 💞⠀

Last year, with your help, we were able to donate $212 to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, and this year our goal is to raise $500!
