Greetings, Nakee enthusiasts! Today, let's chat ingredients and dive into the deliciousness together, because knowing what's in you're eating is just as important to us as it is to you!

It feels a little wrong to be picking favorites, but in the humble opinion of this particular marketing intern, there are few ingredients tastier or more underappreciated than peanut butter. It's one of those foods that's so ubiquitous we rarely think about it, but it actually has a number of health benefits that have made it a great inclusion in Nakee Butter Focus for reasons beyond its flavor!

Coconut oil contains a wide variety of elements that have potential health benenfits:

  • Protein, which helps to reduce appetite and keep you feeling full for longer, in addition to benefiting bone strength and muscle mass;
  • Vitamin E, an antioxidant that supports a wide variety of the body's maintenance;
  • Vitamin B3, also known as niacin, which boosts HDL (good cholesterol) and lowers LDL (bad cholesterol), as well as other functions;
  • Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, which bolsters the immune and nervous systems and is key in the production of DNA, hemoglobin and the brain's neurotransmitters;
  • Manganese, another antioxidant, which in combination with other nutrients supports bone health and reduces inflammation;
  • Magnesium, which helps to regulate blood pressure and is key to the immune system and to the functionality of nerves and muscles;
  • Phosphorus, which aids the body in its construction of healthy cells, particularly in bones;
  • Zinc, a key element in protein synthesis in cells as well as the formation of DNA.

Coconut oil is a key part of many ketogenic diets and is even believed to contribute to dental health through cavity prevention, but it also has uses outside of food as well. It's believed to help soften the skin; as a result, it is one of the key ingredients in a variety of soaps and other cosmetic products.

There's a surprising amount to learn about this ingredient, so if you're interested, we encourage you to go down the rabbit hole (or up the palm tree, as the case may be) and look into it yourself! This is Brendan, signing off for now.
